Description

DLOC, NPC members and USSF organizers need the ability to share pictures that capture national struggles and movements.

Ross and dkg have enabled YUI for wysiwyg editing.

The next step is to set up an image type where folks can upload their pictures or link to them from existing URLs, approve them (i.e. copyright), and feed them into a gallery.

The front page cycling of pictures can be picked from this gallery.

I think this is already done. Ross - can you confirm?

This looks done to me - adding a piece of content of the type image should push that image into the rotating display on the front.

We should work with communications to figure out the best way to let NPC organizers know that this is available.

One reason I raised this as a ticket is a good example of why it's necessary: Tom from IEN said that if there are no pictures of Native organizers that it makes outreach to his constituency more difficult.

How can we support communications wg in getting the word out about this functionality?

Email sent to NPC:

{{{Thanks to the hard work of ICT memebrs Ross and dkg, it is now very easy
for users like yourselves to add pictures to the rotating image region
on the main site.

Please upload your images in two easy steps:
1. Login at www.ussf2010.org/user
2. Go to www.ussf2010.org/node/add/image

We have not yet created a straight-forward process for the removal (or
demotion) of pictures.* For this, please communicate with us by posting
issues in our tracking system: http://ict.ussf2010.org/newticket

Thanks to all of you for participating!
