Description

The community site's ability to send emails for account creation notification and password recovery have been disabled in order to control messages sent to users upon registration.

However, this impedes two very important functions:
1 - to create and notify new users
2 - to recover passwords

If this automatic Drupal functionality must remain off, then we have to devise a system for the above two situations.

This is crucial for the Detroit-based team that will be entering mail-in registrations and payments and for bringing in new people to organize contact information.

I discovered that postfix (the mailer) was not running on mendes. Can you check your email again and let us know if it came through. I think that email notifications are only disabled if you are registering for the social forum.
